BARRY WINDSOR-SMITH: Vintage CONAN Drawing
CONAN (1972). Pencil and Colored Pencil on bristol. Boldly signed by the artist.
Image size 8 x 8 1/2".
A very rare, vintage drawing of Conan the Barbarian, the character that made BWS famous, from the very peak of the time when he was actually working on the CONAN series. This drawing has been in Windsor-Smith's personal files, unseen and unpublished, since it was created. Almost no CONAN work of this vintage ever appears on the market, as supplies are extremely limited, and examples in private collections, once acquired, tend to remain there. Even more rare than the comic book originals themselves are the artist's personal drawings of CONAN from the period when the ground-breaking comics were being created.
